The Medical Director, Ahmed Eldokla MD, FAAN, is american board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and American Board of Neuromuscular Medicine. He is certified in the subspecialty of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (EMG & NCS) by American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). He is certified in Clinical Neuromuscular Pathology by the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS). He is also certified in Autonomic Disorders by UCNS.
My major research interests are the new treatment modalities in ALS, myasthenia gravis and autonomic disorders.

Your Queries, Our Answers: Learn More About Our Specialized Neurological and Autonomic Services
NY Neuromuscular Healthcare provides comprehensive evaluation and management of complex neurological, neuromuscular, and autonomic disorders. Our services include specialized diagnostic procedures such as Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) & Electromyography (EMG), Tilt Table & Autonomic Nervous System Testing, Skin Biopsy, and Muscle Biopsy.
We specialize in various neurological conditions, including Myasthenia Gravis, Myopathies, Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), Polymyositis, Dermatomyositis, Muscular Dystrophies, Neuropathy, Myotonia, and other neuromuscular disorders. We also diagnose and manage autonomic disorders such as Autonomic Neuropathy, Syncope, Dizziness, and Parkinson's disease.
NCS involves placing small electrodes on the skin to measure nerve function, while EMG entails inserting a small needle into muscles to assess muscle and nerve activity. These tests are essential for diagnosing various neuromuscular disorders like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Muscle Weakness, and Myasthenia Gravis.
Our Autonomic Laboratory conducts tests such as tilt table testing, Valsalva Maneuver, and heart rate monitoring to diagnose Autonomic Neuropathy, Syncope, Dizziness, and other dysautonomia conditions associated with diseases like Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, and Diabetes.
SFN is diagnosed through a skin biopsy, examining small sensory nerves under a microscope. Muscle diseases, on the other hand, are diagnosed through muscle biopsy, where muscle samples are examined under a microscope. These procedures help diagnose conditions like Small Fiber Neuropathy, Myopathies, and Muscle Weakness.
